MORE ABOUT CHLOE TEBOE
Multimedia Storyteller
When most kids were asking their parents for permission to play video games after school, Chloe was asking to use Microsoft Word—to write stories. Her passion for crafting characters and devising plot-lines began at an early age, carrying her through college and eventually into the role of Multi-Skilled Journalist and Weekend Anchor at the NBC affiliate in Portland, Maine.
For five years, Chloe worked to master a demanding job. As a weekend anchor, she woke up way before the sun rises, writing and approving copy that she presented on the air between 5 and 8 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. As a multi-skilled journalist, she pitched stories that she discovered on a daily basis, making phone calls to stakeholders and coordinating interviews by determining driving distance and back-timing her day; then, she shot, wrote, and edited her pieces for deadlines that ranged from 4 to 6:30 p.m. To see success in this role, one must have grit and incredible organization skills, a deep desire to connect with the community, and an innate curiosity that cannot be taught. Chloe has earned her reputation over the years as a trusted voice in the state of Maine—telling the hard stories when they happen and also finding the happier stories that inspire people in an oftentimes-bleak world.
Chloe has covered everything from the opioid crisis that has wreaked havoc on local communities to the divisive gun conversation to the small, industrial towns that are working to rebuild themselves and provide a better future for their children. She has also told stories about unforgettable characters, like a team that visits the Maine State Prison to help inmates train service dogs for Veterans; a woman with three sons, who has collected hundreds of Barbie dolls over the years; and a pair of women from the East and West coasts, launching an international initiative to finish knitting projects for the loved ones of people who have died. That's the thing about being a storyteller: Your perspective is widened almost every time you hook a microphone onto someone and turn on the camera.
Chloe is open to storytelling opportunities across video, audio, and written platforms. Please feel free to connect with her!
